Information you share with us as a client is also protected by our professional duty of confidentiality as lawyers. This policy does not reduce that duty.

| Information | How we collect it | Why we use it |
|---|---|---|
| Name, email, phone number, company | Contact forms, email, phone, consultation booking | To answer your enquiry, schedule a consultation and check for conflicts of interest. Recorded in our practice management system (Clio) for internal use only |
| Information about your immigration matter | Consultations, intake forms, secure document exchange | To provide legal services once we agree to act for you |

Our employer self-check runs in your browser. Your answers and score are not sent to us or stored.
Please do not send confidential case information through our website forms. Sending a form or contacting us does not, by itself, create a lawyer-client relationship.
4. Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Tools that could identify, locate or profile you are switched off until you choose to turn them on.
| Type | What it does | Your choice |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Makes the site work and keeps it secure | Always on |
| Analytics: Google Analytics (Google LLC) | Measures visits, pages viewed and Bingo squares tapped | Off until you select “Accept all” |
| Advertising: Google Ads conversion tracking | Tells us whether a visit from one of our ads led to a contact request | Off until you select “Accept all” |
When you first visit, our cookie banner lets you accept all, decline all non-essential cookies, or choose. You can change your choice at any time with the cookie settings button on our website. Declining does not affect your use of the site.
5. Who we share it with and where it is stored
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run our practice, under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only for us, or where the law requires.
| Service provider | What they do for us | Where data may be stored |
|---|---|---|
| Squarespace | Website hosting and contact forms | United States |
| Google (Analytics, Ads) | Site analytics and ad measurement | United States and other countries |
| Microsoft 365 | Email and document storage | Canada, the United States or other countries |
| Clio | Client intake and practice management | Canada, the United States or other countries |
| Our company page and posts | Canada, the United States or other countries |
Some of these providers store information outside Québec and Canada. Before any information is communicated outside Québec, we assess whether it will receive adequate protection, as Québec law requires.
6. How long we keep it and how we protect it
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as long as the law and our professional record-keeping obligations require. Then we securely destroy or anonymize it.
- Enquiries that do not lead to a mandate: deleted during our annual review once they are more than 12 months old. We keep only the minimum needed to check for conflicts of interest.
- Client files: 10 years after the file is closed, to meet our professional record-keeping obligations.
- Google Analytics data: 14 months.
Access is limited to people who need it. We use password-protected accounts with two-step verification and reputable service providers that encrypt data.
If a confidentiality incident occurs, we record it and, where it presents a risk of serious injury, we notify the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada where applicable, and the people affected.

You can, at any time:
